    Unlock the energy savings

Modern municipalities and utility managers are next to the introduction of high efficient LED systems looking for further methods to lower the energy use and create for citizens a safer and more attractive living environments. To limit complexity for OEM and End-Users Philips has introduced Xtreme drivers with programmable Integrated Controls.

    Xitanium Programmable LED drivers

Xitanium Xtreme LED drivers from Philips are designed to operate in demanding applications such as outdoor. This range of drivers Xitanium Xtreme range are build on the Xtreme LED platform and are combining outstanding operating efficiency with integrated controls. These Programmable Xtreme families can be used in different applications. DynaDimmer can be use for standalone dimming, AmpDim, LineSwitch for group dimming and 1-10V or DALI to control the light level via external control modules.

    MultiOne configurator

All Philips drivers can be programmed via one universal tool called MultiOne. This free tool can be downloaded from the internet and with a unique software key the drivers can be configured. The interface for configuring for is for most drivers DALI. For Philips newest drivers, the programming can be done via SimpleSet®

    Adjustable Output Current (AOC)

    Adjustable Output Current (AOC)

    Fine-tuning LED light output

Xitanium Xtreme LED drivers offer a broad output current range. Via the Adjustable Output Current (AOC) the current can be freely programmed to make a perfect fit with practically every LED light module design.

As LED performance improves over time, the same light output can be achieved with lower currents. With the flexible Xitanium Xtreme drivers the rapid pace of LED innovation prevents the driver needs to be replaced when more efficient LEDs become available.

The flexibility of the Xitanium drivers will prevents complex logistics for OEM and maintenance

    Adjustable Light Output (ALO)

    Adjustable Light Output (ALO)

    Fine-tuning light level

When the light level of a luminaires needs to be adjusted without changing the current set by AOC the feature ALO can be use. Reason is that the AOC level is in most cases the maximum value for a specific luminaire.

For conventional systems this ALO feature can change HID lamps to different lumen-output.

ALO will be regarded by the other diming-method (DynaDimmer, 1-10V, DALI) as the virtual max level.

    Constant Light Output (CLO)

    Constant Light Output (CLO)

    Lifetime lumen management

Over time light sources will experience lumen depreciation. With programmable CLO the output power can be automatically be adjusted over time in 16 steps and will result in a constant light-level.

For example a LED module with L80 (=80% lumens at End Of Life), the CLO can be programmed that initially the output power at 80% and over life the output power will automatically increase to the 100%. Result is a constant light output and 10% energy saving during lifetime.

The LITE Programmable drivers supports CLO LITE, In these drivers a linear curve can be programmed with start level and lifetime.

    Dynadimmer

    Dynadimmer

The flexible standalone energy saving solution

The integrated DynaDimmer functionality provides stand-alone multi-step dimming. The user can freely program the timing and level in 5-steps and based on the on-off cycle the system will automatically follow the sequence. The DynaDimmer can be programmed at any light level, including switch-off.

The LITE Programmable drivers are supporting DynaDimmer LITE, these drivers are supporting 1 Step DynaDimmer.

    DALI

    DALI

    Reliable, Universal, Digital communication

DALI is the acronym for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface and is a globally defined open standard for bi-directional interface. DALI which allows compliant components (drivers, sensors, controllers, switches, etc.) from different manufacturers to be mixed and matched together seamlessly into complete systems.

DALI is supporting commands for individual and group control, configuration and for diagnostics.

    1-10V

    1-10V

    Simple analog dim control

For simple dimming the 1-10V interface can be used for step-less dimming. Light levels can be set at all levels between 10% to 100% of light output.

The 1-10V equipped driver can be used in combination with several control-modules, since this interface is uni-directional and therefore not possible for feedback info from the driver.

    LineSwitch

    LineSwitch

Step dimming for easy energy savings

LineSwitch requires an extra pilot-line to dim the lamp. Applying a control-signal on this line (230V from the same or different phase) will switch the driver to a pre-programmed light level.

    AmpDim

    AmpDim

    Dimming via mains dimming

Normally the driver will regulate the output power independently of the mains voltage. If however the luminaire is connected on a mains dimming installation used to dim luminaires with conventional HID system, you can program the Xitanium Xtreme driver to also dim the light at a certain threshold.

AmpDim can also be used for protecting the luminaire against under-voltage on a poor installation with wide voltage-fluctuations.

    Adjustable Startup Time (AST)

    Adjustable Startup Time (AST)

    Visual comfort

Unlike conventional HID lamps the LED luminaires will have immediate light. This effect can be disturbing to residents and traffic. To program a smooth startup the Xitanium Xtreme drivers have a built-in feature called AST to simulate a HID ramp-up time which typically is around 1 minute.

This feature is ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition from daytime to evening illumination.

    Module Temperature Protection (MTP)

    Module Temperature Protection (MTP)

    Reliable system performance

Module Temperature Protection (MTP) manages excessive temperatures of the LED PCB board. High heat negatively impacts the useful life of the LEDs, and increases maintenance costs. MTP feature manages PCB temperature by regulating the output current of the driver. When the LED board temperature rises to a critical level, the MTP will first dim down and then completely turn off the light engine. The system will be turned back on when the LEDs cool down below the critical level. MTP protects LED life during occasional or temporary heat spikes, e.g. a sunny day with the installation not switched off.
